Preparing for your appointment.

Cost

  • In-person at our office: your first appointment is free.

  • Virtual in Google Meet: your first appointment is paid up-front at the time of scheduling. If we contract for representation, we will credit the fee to your account. If we do not enter into a service agreement, the consult fee is nonrefundable, as it served to secure your time slot.

  • You will sit down, one-on-one, with our experienced lawyer to discuss your case.

  • We will discuss our fees, any applicable government fees, and any additional costs at the appointment, so that you know, up-front, how much you need to pay to accomplish your goals. If you hire us, we can get started right away. If you need time to think about it, that’s ok too.

  • Whenever you’re ready to start, we accept payments via a variety of methods, including Zelle (bank transfer), cash, BYDCash Financing, Credit Card Payments via Stripe (may incur additional expenses), and for very long and expensive cases, we may offer an in-house payment plan.

  • Visit our Payments page for more information about payment options.

What to bring and do

  • If you are coming in-person, please arrive 15 minutes early at 1355 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309. This will allow you to park your car, come to the main floor lobby, and take the Peachtree Tower elevators (closest to the street) up to the 18th floor.

  • If you appearing by video, please test Google Meet before your appointment time, to make sure that you have access.

  • You don't have to bring anything, but sometimes we need to see immigration, biographical, or criminal records to give accurate advice.

  • If you were in immigration court, we want to review records for your Alien Registration Number and the I-862 Notice to Appear, if possible.

  • If you were arrested or charged with a criminal case, we want to see the police report/citation and, if the case is already closed, the court disposition.

  • If you were injured at work, then we want any records you might have relating to your employment, such as a contract, pay stubs, etc., and any record for the injury, including any notice filed to your employer or medical records. If possible, take a picture of the Panel of Physicians that the employer should have posted somewhere at your workplace.

  • If this is an accident case, please bring records from the wreck, including a police report, insurance information, photographs, medical records, etc.

  • Don’t worry if you don't have some important records. We can discuss it at the appointment.

What to expect

  • If your appointment is in-person, you might have to wait a bit after your scheduled time. This is the tradeoff with the free consults. We can’t guarantee your start time due to scheduling issues, but we will get to you as soon as possible.

  • If your appointment is virtual, please be in a quiet place where you can hear and be heard.

  • You don’t need a Gmail account to use Google Meet, but please test it ahead of time to make sure you know how to log in and configure your video and sound preferences.

  • Be prepared to discuss your life, criminal history and immigration history, medical info, education, and anything else that might be relevant to your legal needs.

  • The lawyer will lead the discussion to ensure that we review the most important facts to give you the answers you need. If we contract for services, we’ll hear your whole story in your words, but if we can’t help you, we won’t go into all the details, out of respect for your and our time.

  • Anything you tell us about your past is confidential. We won't disclose anything, unless you permit us to.

  • After the appointment, we will tell you as clearly as possible whether we can help you, how much it will cost, and what we will need to do to get started.

It usually takes less than an hour with our attorney to see if you qualify, review the total costs, and walk away with a clear understanding of what lies ahead.
